Resolve2Solve is the Birmingham Bar Foundation's signature conflict-resolution program, designed to equip students in grades 7–12 with the skills they need to navigate conflict in healthy, constructive ways. Led by volunteer attorneys in partnership with the Birmingham Bar Association's Alternative Dispute Resolution Section, the program teaches students to understand conflict, distinguish between aggressive and assertive behavior, responsibly navigate conflict on social media, and effectively manage disagreements with both peers and adults. By empowering students with practical communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, Resolve2Solve seeks to reduce disciplinary incidents, prevent violence, and foster safer, more positive school environments.

Resolve2Solve has reached students through interactive training that complements the leadership and educational opportunities offered by their schools. Teachers consistently report improved student behavior, stronger peer relationships, and increased confidence in resolving everyday conflicts. The program also introduces students to the legal profession and the justice system through meaningful interactions with volunteer attorneys who serve as mentors and role models.

Thanks to a generous grant from the Alabama Law Foundation, the Birmingham Bar Foundation is currently undertaking a comprehensive update of the Resolve2Solve curriculum to ensure it remains relevant, engaging, and effective for today's students. This investment will strengthen one of the Foundation's flagship programs and expand its impact on young people throughout the Birmingham community.
